READING, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team dropped a tough North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match, 3-0, here Saturday evening at Penn St.-Berks.
Gallaudet (11-23, 7-4 NEAC) had a chance to improve its NEAC playoff seeding as the Bison entered the game needing a win to move up the standings. The loss dropped the buff and blue to the sixth seed and will force GU to travel next week for the quarterfinal round.
Penn St.-Berks (15-14, 7-4 NEAC) improved its overall record to above .500 with the 25-20, 25-22, 25-22 sweep of the Bison.
Junior Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with 12 kills and seven digs. Freshman setter Demi Bingham (Jefferson, Md.) passed out 26 assists and made seven digs. Sophomore Mia Upchurch (Austin, Texas) made a match-high 17 digs in the loss.
Penn St.-Berks was led by Zoe Barna's 11 kills while Julia Rathsam recorded a double-double with 30 assists and 15 digs.

GU will travel to third-seed Penn St.-Abington (16-15, 8-3 NEAC) on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in the NEAC tournament quarterfinal round. The Bison defeated Penn St.-Abington, in straight sets, back on Sept. 27.
