Gallaudet set to travel to Penn St.-Abington on Tuesday in NEAC women's volleyball tournament

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team will enter the 2019 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 seed Penn St.-Abington on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The quarterfinal round match will take place at 7 p.m. The winner of that match will advance to the NEAC semifinals this weekend.

Morrisville State College (21-6, 11-0 NEAC), the regular-season champions, will serve as the NEAC tournament host this weekend. The Mustangs are the two-time defending NEAC champions and will be hosting the NEAC tournament for the second straight year.

Gallaudet last won the NEAC tournament in 2016 The Bison won the first seven NEAC championships they participated in, starting in 2010 the first year GU was a member of the conference.

GU (11-23) defeated Penn St.-Abington (16-15) in straight sets, 3-0, this season on the opening day of the Worthington Classic in the Field House on Sept. 27.

The Gallaudet/Penn St.-Abington winner will face No. 2 seed Penn St.-Harrisburg (15-13) in the NEAC semifinal round on Saturday, Nov. 9. Top-seed Morrisville St. will face the winner of No. 4 Lancaster Bible College (16-15) and No. 5 Penn St.-Berks (15-14) in the other semifinal. The NEAC championship will be held on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1 p.m.
