Gallaudet women's swimming sits in third place at Cedar Crest Invitational after first day

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's swimming and diving team sits in third place after the first day of the Cedar Crest College Falcon Invitational held here on Saturday.

The Bison totaled 137 team points and sit behind Roberts Wesleyan (269) and the host Falcons (222). SUNY Cobleskill is currently in fourth place (103).

Junior Julia Miller-Notestone (Medford, Ore.) led the Bison with two second-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle (6:02.35) and 100-yard backstroke (1:09.71).

Junior Jessica Monroe (Senoia, Ga.) placed fourth in the 50-yard butterfly with a new personal record time of 34.17 seconds.

GU's 200-yard medley relay team of Miller-Notestone, senior Jana Kiefer (Leander, Texas), Monroe and freshman Kari McMinn (Belleville, Ontario) finished fourth with a time of 2:25.37.


  • Kiefer took fifth in the 200-yard IM (2:59.34)
  • Kiefer was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:37.04)
  • McMinn set a new personal best time in the 50-yard freestyle (34.85)
