Gallaudet women's team finish fourth overall at 2018 NEAC swimming and diving championships

COBLESKILL, N.Y. - The 2018 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) swimming championships hosted by SUNY Cobleskill concluded here Sunday night as Gallaudet University finished fourth overall in the women's standings.

Cazenovia College won its fourth straight conference title with 706 team points. Cedar Crest College was a distant second with 467 points followed by Wells College (368 points), Gallaudet (310) and the host Fighting Tigers from SUNY Cobleskill (156).

Sophomore Julia Miller-Notestone (Medford, Ore.) placed second in the 100-yard freestyle as she touched the wall in 1:02.81 while junior Alisia Metante (Pleasanton, Calif.) was fourth (1:05.44).

Sophomore Jackie Perkins (Hampton, Va.) finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (3:01.00).

Sophomore Jessica Monroe (Senoia, Ga.) placed fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle as she touched the wall in 23:25.31 to secure 10 team points.

Junior Jana Kiefer (Leander, Texas) was sixth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:55.05.

Gallaudet's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Kiefer, Metante, Miller-Notestone and Perkins finished fourth with a time of 4:32.81.


  • Junior Rochelle Carty-Bauman (Brampton, Ontario) was seventh in the 100-yard IM (1:28.63)
  • Junior Alyssa Hanbury (Orlando, Fla.) was ninth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 3:02.10
  • Kiefer was ninth in 200-yard breaststroke (3:27.61)
  • Senior Katie Bigelow (Flushing, Mich.) was ninth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 25:56.88
  • Senior Faye Frez-Albrecht (Canton, Conn.) was 11th in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 27:12.28
  • Sophomore Jessica Monroe (Senoia, Ga.) was 12th in the 200-yard backstroke (3:09.10)
  • Bigelow finished 11th in the 100-yard freestyle (1:11.55)
  • GU's second 400-yard freestyle relay team of Hanbury, Frez-Albrecht, sophomore Kelsey Prickett (North Branch, Minn.) and Bigelow finished 10th (5:10.75)
  • Gallaudet's men's and women's teams combined for 689 team points to place third overall as a program


This concludes the 2017-18 season for the Gallaudet University women's swimming and diving program.
