GU's Julia Miller-Notestone earns All-NEAC Third Team honor

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) released its 2017 All-Conference Swimming and Diving teams and Gallaudet University freshman Julia Miller-Notestone (Medford, Ore.) was selected to the All-NEAC Third Team.

A swimmer or diver needs to place first, second, or third in an event at the NEAC Championships to earn all-conference status. The 2017 swimming and diving championships were held Feb. 10-12 and were hosted by Cazenovia College. Gallaudet finished in fifth place with 269 points.

Miller-Notestone was the lone Bison to earn All-NEAC honors. She earned All-NEAC Third Team honors for her performance in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 1:07.75 for a third-place finish.

The hosts, Cazenovia College, swam away with the championship accumulating a total of 703 points. Cedar Crest College took second place with 463 points while SUNY Cobleskill took third (325) and Wells took fourth (311).

Cedar Crest College's Maggie Olock was honored as to 2016-17 NEAC Women's Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Year. Cazenovia's Katherine Meehan was honored as the 2016-17 Women's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Year. Katie Vincent of Cedar Crest was named the 2016-17 Women's Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year.
