WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's swimming and diving team won its third meet of the season here Thursday night with a 138-102 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Gallaudet (3-9) won eight of the 14 events and earned 10 second-place finishes as the Bison were able to pull ahead, in clutch moments, to earn enough team points for the win over the Gators (3-2).

Senior Katie Bigelow (Flushing, Mich.) and freshman Jana Kiefer (Leander, Texas) led the Bison with three first-place individual performances. Bigelow touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 14:10.39 in the second event of the meet. She was also first in the 50 freestyle (30.35 seconds) and 100 freestyle (1:07.97). Freshman Alyssa Hanbury (Orlando, Fla.) finished first in the 100 backstroke with a new personal record time of 1:23.55 and was second in the 100 butterfly (1:27.32).

Three other Bison earned second place finishes including sophomore Kylie Sterling (Sumner, Wash.) in the 100 breaststroke (1:37.08), freshman Alyssa Barlow (Chandler, Ariz.) in the 200 backstroke (3:22.93) and junior Paige-Cecily Ramos (New York, N.Y.) in the 200 breaststroke (3:26.34). Barlow and Ramos set new personal records with their respective second place finishes.

Bigelow, Stroud-Williams, Hanbury and Foreman were also members of the first-place 400 freestyle medley relay team (4:53.75) that capped the meet for the Bison.
