WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University softball team will not be traveling this weekend to the Beach Blast Tournament hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University as that multi-team tournament was canceled due to weather and poor field conditions in Virginia Beach, Va.

Gallaudet (2-0), who quickly filled its schedule void, will now host five games this weekend at the GU Softball Complex on its turf field.

The Bison will play host to Rhode Island College (0-0) and Frostburg State University (1-5) on Saturday, March 9. GU will play Rhode Island at 11 a.m. and Frostburg at 3 p.m. Rhode Island and Frostburg will face-off at 1 p.m.

On Sunday, the Bison will play host to Notre Dame of Maryland University (0-0) for two non-conference games starting at noon. This will be the first of four games against the Gators this month.
