Bison softball ranked eighth in NEAC coaches preseason poll

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University softball team was picked eighth in the third North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) preseason coaches poll released Wednesday. 

The Bison finished the 2017 season with a 16-23-1 record and a 7-13 mark in conference play. GU accumulated 62 points in the 13-team preseason poll.

Keuka College, the top team in the North Division, received seven first-place votes and 138 points to edge out defending NEAC champion Penn St.-Berks for the top spot. The Nittany Lions, last year's South Division champion, received six first-place votes and 130 points. The two teams met in the conference championship last year.

Gallaudet opens the season Saturday, Feb. 24, when it hosts Catholic University of America in a non-conference doubleheader at noon.
