Johnson nets first goal of season as GU wraps up weekend at Elmer Lord Soccer Classic

SALISBURY, Md. - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team fell to Salisbury University, 7-1, here Saturday on the second day of the Elmer Lord Soccer Classic.

Gallaudet (0-2) cut Salisbury's lead in half, 2-1, in the 33rd minute when sophomore Chad Johnson (Gardena, Calif.) scored an unassisted goal, his first of the season. The Sea Gulls (1-1) added two quick goals to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Salisbury scored three more times to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore goalie Shane Angel (Mechanicsville, Md.) stopped 10 shots by the Sea Gulls in 90 minutes played.

Salisbury had seven different goal scorers as Cullen Myers and Dolph Hegewisch tallied two assists each.
