WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University athletics department inducted 21 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on May 1 for demonstrating excellence in athletics and academics. A full list of inductees is below.
To be eligible a student-athlete must have a 3.40 grade point average or higher, must be of good moral character, be a varsity sport letterwinner and be a junior or senior academic and athletic standing.
This is Gallaudet’s fifth Chi Alpha Sigma class as the chapter was established in 2013-14. GU honored the new class at the annual athletics banquet in the Field House. Dr. Brendan Stern, Faculty Athletics Representative, presented new inductees a medal and graduating seniors received black and yellow honor cords to wear on graduation day. Members of previous years classes, who are now seniors, also received honor cords during the banquet.
This year's induction class represents 11 different varsity sports and they hail from 12 different states and three different countries.
