DOVER, Del. – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team extended its season-high winning streak to six with Tuesday night's 3-0 victory over Wesley College by the score 25-12, 25-17, 25-16 on the road. Gallaudet's previous season-high win streak was four when it began the season at the Battefield Classic in Gettysburg, Pa. GU has not dropped a set in over six matches a streak of 18 consecutive sets.
Sophomore Mari Klassen (White Rock, British Columbia) led the Bison offense with 11 kills to go with nine digs in the match. Junior Paige Johnson (North Richland Hills, Texas) set up the strong Bison (11-8) offensive attack with 29 assists. Sophomore Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) contributed seven kills and three service aces as the middle hitter.
The Bison defense did a great job against the Wolverine (3-19) offense as they limited them to 12, 17, and 16 points in each set, respectively. Junior libero Micaela Paulone (Fishers, Ind.) anchored the defense with seven digs.
The Bison put their six-game winning streak on the line against McDaniel College at home on Thursday, September 30, at 7 p.m. in the Field House.
