Bison volleyball earns berth at 2006 NCAA tournament; perfect 11-0 season at home
The team traveled to nearby Marymount University on Friday
November 4th to defend its Capital Athletic Conference
championship. Coming off a 2-3 loss on their last visit,
Gallaudet's squad did not let the Saints have an opportunity to
come back, shutting them out 30-20, 30-27, 30-27 for a resounding
3-0 victory and championship honors retained in 2006. Seniors
Tamijo Foronda and Kristina Burke contributed with 19 and 17 kills
while libero Shanna Lehmann and setter Pia Marie Paulone continued
the barrage with 18 and 15 digs, fortified by Burke's 21. Paulone
also registered 42 assists on the night. The win earned a #2
seeding for their next challenge beginning on Thursday November 9th
at Juniata College, for Game 1of the 2006 NCAA Regional
Tournament. Gallaudet will be playing Penn State-Altoona
(17-12).
