Carlisle Robinson named NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) announced its weekly conference student-athlete of the week awards and for the first time this season senior Carlisle Robinson (Carmel, Ind.) was named the women’s swimming and diving recipient for the week of January 24.
Robinson had a big weekend for the Bison women's swimming team as she claimed five first-place finishes in two different meets. On Saturday, Robinson was first in two different events against non-conference foe Hood College on the road. She was first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.95) and the 100-yard butterfly (1:12.23). The Bison lost a heartbreaker to the Blazers 102-100.
On Sunday, Robinson and company bounced back with a big 155-49 victory at home against NEAC opponent College of St. Elizabeth. Robinson was first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:58.10), over a minute faster than the second-place finisher from St. Elizabeth. She was also first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:50.22) and was a member of the first-place 400-yard medley relay (5:16.74).
The men’s swimming NEAC student-athlete award for this week went to another Bison, Brian Bennett (Colorado Springs, Colo.), bringing Gallaudet’s total to 16 NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week awards for this season.
Gallaudet will host College of Notre Dame (Md.) at home on Wednesday, January 26, at 6 p.m. in a non-conference meet.
