Ronda Jo Miller named to NCAA D-III All Decade Team

WASHINGTON, D.C.--Ronda Jo Miller, who played for the Buff and Blue under coach Kathryn "Kitty" Baldridge from 1997-2000, was named to the D3Hoops.com All Decade Team earlier this month. The Minnesota native earned first team honors.

Miller, whose 2,656 career points currently tops Gallaudet's all-time scoring list, "single-handedly changed the way basketball was played and practiced in the Capital Athletic Conference and the region..." notes the biography posted by D3Hoops.com staff.  Her 2,656 points also puts her in the third spot on the Division III all-time scoring list.

Ronda Jo also set CAC marks for career rebounds (1,545) and field goals (1,090). Within the conference, she earned 1997 Rookie of the Year, and was named Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons (1997, 1998 and 1999). Miller also participated in two NCAA tournaments, with the 1997 trip going to the first round and the 1999 season seeing a Sweet 16 appearance.

Mark Simon, of "Around the Nation" said in a March 9, 1999 piece that "Miller was Superwoman with a basketball -- on this day, she could do no wrong. It wasn't just the 38 points, it was how she got them. The double-clutch jump shots and reverse layups looked so easy."

Miller also was the first deaf woman ever to break into the ranks of the WNBA. She played briefly with the Washington Mystics in the preseason of 2002.
