WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University softball team will be participating in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) "StrikeOut Cancer" program this Thursday, April 13, when they host North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Wilson College for a doubleheader. The first game will get underway at the GU Softball Complex at 3 p.m.
Prior to the game, the players and coaches will have the opportunity to sign a large banner to designate someone who they are playing for who battled with cancer. Fans will also have the option of signing the banner.
Fans are encouraged to wear something pink to show their support at the games. The team will be wearing pink camo shirts which fans will be able to buy during the game. Proceeds from the sales of the shirts will be donated to cancer research.
