FREDERICK, Md. – The Gallaudet University men’s cross country team was one of three teams to run Saturday in the Hood College Invitational held on the Frederick, Md., campus. There were no team scores for this meet.
Junior Griffin O’Hara (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was the top runner for the Bison as he finished the 5K course in 20 minutes, 15 seconds, in 13th place. He was two minutes off the winning pace set by three Hood runners who crossed at 18:13. Sophomore Daniel Jacobs was ruled the winner followed by fellow sophomore Stephen McNamara and junior Brett Shelley. A fourth Blazer followed in sophomore Matthew Dyjack (18:27). The other school to participate was Marymount (Va.) University.
Freshman Juan Munoz (Houston, Texas) was the next Bison to cross the finish line in 17th place (20:40). A minute later, junior Whitney Plummer (Fountain Valley, Calif.) finished in 20th place (21:48) followed by sophomore Chris Davis (Stillwater, Okla.) in 22nd place (22:03). Freshman John Conlin (Williams Bay, Wis.) was the fifth Bison to finish the race as he placed 25th overall (23:18). Junior Juan Villalobos (South Gate, Calif.) was the last runner to finish in 28th place (28:51).
The Bison return to Frederick County next weekend when the Bison run in the Hood College Open Meet at Utica Park in Thurmont, Md.
