Bison men's cross country competes at DeSales Invitational
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men’s cross country team finished 45th at the DeSales University Invitational on Saturday. The Bison accumulated 1,366 team points in the meet. There were 448 runners from 45 different teams that made up the field.
Dickinson College’s Dylan Straughn won the 8K race in 26 minutes and 56 seconds. The Dickinson team won the meet as well, with their first five runners finishing in first, eighth, 15th, 16th and 18th, for a score of 58. Allegheny College was second with 104 points, and Messiah College came in third with 149, edging out fourth-place Saint Vincent College with 151 points. Kutztown University rounded out the top five with 195 team points.
Gallaudet junior Griffin O’Hara (Colorado Spring, Colo.) led the way for the Bison, finishing 357th overall with a time of 33 minutes, 20 seconds. Junior Whitney Plummer (Fountain Valley, Calif.) was the next GU runner to finish (404th, 35:36), followed by sophomore Chris Davis from Stillwater, Okla., (425th, 37:14). Freshman Juan Munoz (Houston, Texas) completed the course in 38:55 (431st place) and junior Juan Villalobos (South Gate, Calif.) finished in 43:52 (444th place).
The Bison will compete again next Saturday, October 15, in the Hood College Invitational in Frederick, Md., at 11 a.m.
