Gallaudet's Cross Country team competed in their first meet in six years Sept. 27 at the Don Cathcart Invitational. Four women competed for Gallaudet and sophomore Catherine Rose Ritz was Gallaudet's top finisher with a time of 25 minutes 25 seconds, good for 59th place out of 136 runners. Senior Kari Olney finished with a time of 25 minutes 45 seconds, good for 68th place. Sophomore Kayla Castro ran the course in 27 minutes 42 seconds, good for 100th place and sophomore Kirsten Swanson finished with a time of 31 minutes 44 seconds.
The team is coached by Andrew Brinks who is reestablishing the men's and women's cross country teams. Coach Brinks praised the ladies who represented Gallaudet. "They all had a lot of fun and were very excited to race last weekend! They are already looking forward to the next meet!"
