WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men’s and women's track and field program and third-year head coach Byron Moore have officially released the schedule for the 2016-17 outdoor season. The seven meet schedule begins after the conclusion of the indoor track season and carries through the spring semester.
The season will open up at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet hosted by Salisbury University on March 4. Three weeks later on March 25, the Bison will compete at the Goucher College Track & Field Classic in Towson, Md.
GU will wrap up the month of March and welcome April at the 31st Annual Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va., on March 31-April 1. Two weeks later, Gallaudet will compete at another two-day meet. The New Captains Classic is hosted by Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va., and will be held over the weekend of April 14-15.
Gallaudet will travel for the Atlantic Independent Championship Meet hosted by Methodist University in Durham, N.C., on April 20 for the first time in program history.
On April 22, Gallaudet University will host the Bison Invitational at the Thomas O. Berg Track at Hotchkiss Field. This is the only home track and field event for Gallaudet.
The Bison will wrap up the season at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania on April 29.
If any Gallaudet student-athletes qualify for the 2017 Division III Outdoor Championships, they will compete on May 25-27 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
