SALISBURY, Md. – Senior Vianney Boum-Yamb (Silver Spring, Md.) ran in his final events as a member of the Gallaudet University men's track and field team here on Friday evening at the Salisbury University Elite Qualifying Meet.
Boum-Yamb finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.87 seconds improving on his best time, this year, of 11.05 seconds. He was just off the first-place time of 10.68 set by Wesley College's DaJahn Lowery followed by University of Mary Washington's Glenn Taylor in second (10.69).
In the 200-meter dash, Boum-Yamb finished fifth overall with a time of 22.54 seconds. Wesley's Dominic McAnulty was first with a time of 21.70 followed by Taylor (21.93), Lowery (22.16) and Salisbury's Carmelo Barresi (22.31).
This was Boum-Yamb's last attempt to qualify for the 2015 NCAA Division III outdoor track and field championships. Unfortunately, his times do not meet the NCAA qualifying marks.
Boum-Yamb finishes his track and field career with four school records. He was a member of the 4x400 meter relay team that set a school record in the 2013 outdoor season. He set three indoor records in 2014 in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash and in 2013 he was a member of the 4x200 meter relay team.
