Bison compete at the Jim Taylor Invitational, Flowers wins the triple jump
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men’s track and field team competed at the Jim Taylor Invitational on the campus of Susquehanna University on Saturday. There was no team scores kept for the invitational.
The Bison were led by junior jumper Darius Flowers (Birmingham, Ala.), who won the triple jump event with a jump of 13.67 meters (44 feet, 10.25 inches). Flowers set the bar high on his first jump of 13.67 meters, which stood to win the event.
Freshman Michael Haynes (Granite City, Ill.) was third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.08 seconds. Gallaudet took third place in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 44.91 seconds.
Freshman James Glenn (Wichita, Kan.) was 13th in the 400 meter dash (53.62 seconds) and 15th in the 200 meter dash (24.07 seconds). Glenn finished just in front of junior Shawn Gordon-Davis (Union City, Ga.), who crossed the finish line in 24.18 seconds. Fellow junior Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) was 18th in the long jump with a distance of 5.36 meters.
GU will next compete at the Goucher Invitational in Towson, Md., on Saturday, April 7.
