GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men’s track and field team placed 13th overall at the Messiah Invitational on Saturday as the Bison tallied five team points. The host Falcons from Messiah College won the meet with 227 points followed by Dickinson College (119 points) and Lebanon Valley College (88 points) in the 13-team field.
Freshman Michael Haynes (Granite City, Ill.) led the Bison with a fourth-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Haynes just missed a top three finish by .01 second as he finished in 15.64 seconds. Haynes just missed the school record of 15.5 set back in 1989 by Eric Roberts.

Gordon-Davis finished the race in 23.18 seconds and missed a top five finish by just under a second. Freshman James Glenn (Wichita, Kan.) was 20th in 23.98 seconds while junior Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) finished 26th in 24.29 seconds. Houston had a top 15 finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.61 meters (18 feet, five inches) to place 12th overall.
“We had a stellar performance at Messiah. Many of our student-athletes set many personal records and several are close to setting some new school records,” Gallaudet coach Mikaela Hudson said. “This team continues to grow in support of one another in both individual and team performances. I could not have asked for a better team.”
The Bison will have a weekend off before competing in the Paul Kaiser Classic on April 28, in Shippensburg, Pa.
