Bison soccer works hard against Salisbury

WASHINGTON, DC--The men's soccer team played host to Salisbury University in conference play today. After the opening pass, Gallaudet's defense was clicking, keeping the Sea Gulls scoreless as the visitors searched for openings in the defense. Goalie David Owens continued his superb handwork as he put together a 12-save game. However, Seagull Nick Malone found the first seam off an assist from Joe Rubel to put the visitors up 1-0.

In the first half, the Bison showed poise, only allowing three goals past their defense. At the break, Coach Musa gathered his crew and designed a new game plan. Over the second half, between the 60th and 70th minutes, fatigue took over as the Bison continued to work against the fresh legs of the Sea Gulls. During this span, four Salisbury goals were scored, making the final score 7-0.

Freshman Justin Arrigo was all over the field, tackling the ball and preventing would-be scores, with teammates Justin DiBiase and Sylvain Angouono working the lines. Matt Bujak also showed confidence as he positioned his players on the field, targeting them with long-distance kicks to provide momentum.

The Bison continue on their quest for victory at home against Dallas University in non-conference play on September 22. The first pass kicks at 2:00 p.m.
