Gallaudet Men's Basketball Wins Season Opener 61-57

After a six win season last year, expectations are higher for this year's men's basketball team, and in their first test of the 2008-09 season, the men came from behind to defeat Randolph College (1-3) 61-57.
The game marked the return of Sekoe White, who sat out last season due to injury, and he showed Bison fans what's in store for them this year, as he played a great all-around game, scoring 20 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists and making 2 steals. Freshman Tony Tatum made his long awaited debut and scored 9 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and also had 3 assists and 3 steals.
Gallaudet went into the half of a close game down by 2 points, but
pulled ahead in the second half and held off a furious Randolph
College rally. For the game, Gallaudet shot 22 for 60 from the
floor and did a great job protecting the ball. The Bison
committed 12 turnovers for the game.
Jon Mowl had a hot hand behind the new 3 point line, which is a little further back than last year, going 4-6 on 3 pointers, for a total of 12 points for the game.
Gallaudet (1-0) plays their first home game Monday night in the Field House at 8 pm vs. Christendom College.
