Bison win over Randolph, 74-57

WASHINGTON, DC—The Bison hosted the Wildcats of Randolph
College in the second game of a Tuesday night doubleheader. The
Bison won, 74-57. Tonight was the first time this season that the
Field House saw both Bison teams put together winning performances
(the women won over Trinity, 81-73).
The Buff and Blue took advantage of scoring opportunities, building
a 14 point lead at the 9-minute mark in the first half. The
Wildcats could not get into double digits scoring until the
6-minute mark off a three-pointer that made it 22-13.
Gallaudet took a 14-point lead (32-18) off a Johnny Jackson spin
move that found the bottom of the net, into the locker rooms.
When play picked up in the second half, the Bison stretched their
lead to 22 points, 41-18 on a 9-0 scoring run. The Wildcats picked
up a pair of baskets to make it 44-22 at the 15-minute mark.
The Buff and Blue never gave up their lead as they would go on to
win by 17. Bison guard Jon Mowl had a career-high 28 points off
5-for-8 from the three-point arc. He also had two assists, one
block and two steals. Onye Davis had a double-double, posting 11
points and pulling down 12 boards. Lance Gonzalez had 10
points.
For the visitors, Travis Ellis had a team-high 17 points with Pete
Hamilton and Jimmy Greene each posting 9.
The Bison (3-13, 2-6 CAC) take on Marymount University on Saturday,
January 26 at Marymount. Tip time is set for 4:00 p.m.
