Gwynedd-Mercy wins over Gallaudet

WASHINGTON,DC--Jon Mowl posted another 20-point performance in a Bison 88-65 loss. The Gwynedd-Mercy Griffins started strong, putting together an offensive spurt that saw nine early points before Bison guard Johnny Jackson got the Buff and Blue on board with a layup.

Despite being under-sized, the Bison worked on offense as they improved from last night's 34% overall field goals to 46% this afternoon.

Mowl had a game-high 7 assists, and led the team in rebounding (5). Teammate Lance Gonzalez picked up 11 points and 3 assists, while Johnny Jackson put up 9 points and Lee Jones had 7.

For the 1-1 Griffins, Dan DelConte led the way with 13 points, Matt Johnson had 12, as did Dave Smith.

After Widener defeated Union College 68-52 to take the championship, the All-Tournament Team was announced:

Jon Mowl, Gallaudet
Matt Johnson, Gwynedd-Mercy
Delon McAllister, Union
Branden Washington, Widener
Nyere Miller, Widener

Tournament MVP: Charles Johnson (Widener)

The Bison (0-4, 0-0 CAC) take a break until November 28, when they play host to the conference season-opener against Marymount University. Tip time is set for 8 p.m.
