Gallaudet Loses Season Finale to Nation's 9th Ranked Team

For their season finale, Gallaudet tested themselves against one of the best team's in the country, Wesley College, which entered the game, ranked 9th in the country and are expected to do well in the upcoming Division III playoffs. The game ended with Wesley on top 55-7, but Gallaudet showed several bright spots as they build for next year.
Quarterback Jimmy Gardner rushed for 56 yards, including a 6 yard touchdown run, as Gallaudet totaled 114 yards on the ground, just the third team this year to gain over 100 yards rushing against Wesley, which has not lost since their first game. The touchdown ended a 4 play 68 yard touchdown drive for the Bison.
Wide receiver Kevin Alley continued his outstanding season with 2 catches for 64 yards. On defense Jared Vollmer led the way with 7 1/2 tackles, while Michael Halloran added 6 1/2. As a team, Gallaudet made 3 tackles for a loss. As a team, The Bison played with discipline, getting whistled just two times for 15 penalty yards.
The loss sends the Bison to 2-8 on the 2008 season. Several key players will return to next year's team and Head Coach Ed Hottle has already lined up several outstanding recruits for next year.
