Gallaudet Opens Spring Practice

Washington, D.C. - Gallaudet University opened Spring Practice on Wednesday April 4th looking forward to a high impact day. Spirits were high as the Bison took the field under a downpour of spring rain. The Bison looked unfazed by rain, as the players continued to move through the quick workout excitedly.

"We play in the rain, so it's not an issue for most of our guys," said Head Coach Ed Hottle. "A lot of these guys have been working hard in the weight room and I think they were anxious to get out and be able to practice again."

The ‘Buff and Blue' have over 50 players participating in spring practice, and will be able to gain more important reps for the 12 freshmen who saw extensive game time in the fall.

"Spring is another opportunity for us to get better. We want to look to focus on the big picture and where we can improve. We're able to take it slow and really make sure we are all on the same page," replied Hottle. "All in all it was a good first day."

Rain or shine, the Bison will hit the field again today at 5:00pm. Practices are free and are open to the public.

Throughout the Bison spring practice schedule, gallaudetathletics.com will attempt to bring you the most in-depth coverage of the Bison football program, as they prepare for the upcoming 2009 season.
