Cheerleading head coach applicants needed for next season
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University athletics department is seeking applicants to be the cheerleading head coach for the 2012-13 season. The responsibilities of the new head coach are to conduct all aspects of the program within the philosophy and guidelines set forth by Gallaudet University, the NCAA and the North Eastern Athletic Conference and the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference.
The right applicant will be highly motivated, have prior cheerleading experience, and familiar with American Sign Language. The expectations for the new head coach will be to schedule and conduct all practices, meet the established recruiting and retention goals set by the institution and completion of other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director. The new head coach will direct the fall cheerleading roster for the home football and women’s volleyball games and the winter cheerleading roster for men’s and women’s basketball home games and be able to recruit new members and maintain the roster size for each year. The right applicant should also be able to help monitor academic progress for all members of the cheerleading club. This is a part-time position.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, previous demonstrated experience as a coach or member of a cheerleading team, plus previous experience in recruiting students preferred.
