Villa Julie tops Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C.--The Buff and Blue resumed play today after a week-long hiatus as Gallaudet closed for the spring break. The Mustangs of Villa Julie College took the game in a 22-2 decision.
Freshman Zane Noschese started work on the mound and put forth two innings before being relieved by veteran Eric Smithson. Smithson picked up two strikeouts over three innings of work as John Moore, Jr. went in for the close.
The Bison picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth when Eric Smithson scored off a pitching error. Ryan Lentz was brought home off a balk, both runs going towards preventing a shutout. To date, the Bison have only allowed two shutouts in 14 games.
Kevin Alley, who leads the Bison with a .326 average, was 1-for-3 at the plate today. The centerfielder picked up a double in an effort to bring runs home in the bottom of the fourth. Moore, Jr. (.263 BA) earned his 10th hit of the season as he singled in the third.
Gallaudet (1-13, 0-10 CAC) will take on the Salisbury Sea Gulls
in continuing conference play on Wednesday, March 26. The first
pitch is set to go at 3:30 p.m.
