WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet University weight room/fitness suite will be closed until Monday, August 29, in preparation for the start of the new school year. No faculty, staff and students are permitted to exercise in the facility without supervision at this time.
This year the gym membership fees have remained the same, no increase, and are set at $100 for the fall semester and $175 for a full year for all Gallaudet faculty and staff. Gallaudet alumni can sign-up for $150 for the fall semester or $250 for the entire year. The fall memberships run from September 1, 2011 until December 16, 2011. The year membership runs from September 1 until May 11, 2012. Full year memberships get a free locker to use for the year.
If you are interested in purchasing a membership please see Anna Hall in the Field House room 102 to obtain an official gym membership sticker. Each patron of the Gallaudet gym must present his or her valid University ID with a valid sticker to gain entrance to use the equipment. There are no exceptions. Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Stephon Healey and his student-workers supervise the area when open.
The weight room/fitness suite (on the second floor that overlooks the pool) will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. The area will be closed on Saturday and open on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. The times are subject to change please check posted schedule in the weight room/fitness suite.
