Gallaudet Athletics statement regarding the football program

CLARIFICATION

There was a false message in the March 30th issue of the Deaf Digest, a nationally distributed e-newsletter that stated the football program at Gallaudet University would be closed by President Davila due to financial setbacks.

Gallaudet Athletics wishes to clarify and reassure the community that the football program is not closed, and plans to continue its regularly scheduled games in 2008.  

The editor of the Deaf Digest has issued a statement apologizing for the message, which was intended as an April Fool joke.
